This is the best Russian small open collimator "red dot" combat optic using laser-generated "heads-up display" (HUD) technology to superimpose a reticle pattern onto a filtered lens to provide precision CQB target acquisition.
Hard to pass these up. Made in Russia so you can already expect greatness. I've purchased 3 of these so far. And I'm going to keep coming back as needed for another one and again. Longest battery life I've ever experienced in an optic. Even compared to holosun these little red dots rarely need changed. I've swapped one battery so far ever in one of them I have. They shut off when you put them away. And turn on immediate when you need it. Grab as many of these as you can before they aren't available anymore. I've run these on a vityaz 9, a 762x39 kalash and a 74m, as well as 105. They perform flawlessly on every platform. You won't ever need sorry with this purchase. Count on it!

This review is for the 1x20 Pilade Red Dot.
The good: I do like the small size of this red dot. I'm using it on a ak pistol and it fits the gun perfectly. It was bright enough for me, however I havent used it in the really bright sun against a light colored background. It's a two piece design, so when you remove the top of the optic to change the battery, the base stays put, so that's a pretty clever way to keep battery changes from affecting zero while still keeping a small package.
The bad: Biggest complaint is I do NOT like the auto brightness feature. That feature alone is what kills this product for me. If it's dark out, the sight thinks the cover is on and just turns off, so it's useless in low light situations. This one does not have different reticles to choose from, but I'm used to just the red dot so not a huge negative. Sight in is kind of strange since they give you a big wheel that you put on the screwdriver and then use the screwdriver to adjust it.
Overall this is an ok sight, nothing special. I got this on sale for a hundy, but I would have been upset if I paid more. If you will not use this in any low light situations, then it's good, otherwise look elsewhere.

For a $200.00 optic I am very satisfied. Used on my AK47. I can't think of anything to complain about. I will agree with the other reviewer, in regards to changing the battery, but my brightness is adequate outdoors. I'd recommend using this with an AK that has a rail mounted on the dust cover, or maybe a low profile side rail if possible.

overall a pretty good optic I think it was worth the price Pro's and Con's are as follows
Pro's
1 cheap (my favorite kind of gear)
2 durable while I never did anything to crazy to it it has spent a lot of time being knocked around the back of my truck but it still works fine
3 I rather liked the ability to choose from a variety of reticles I personaly use the 3 sided cross hair setting
Con's
1 Dim even on the brightest setting it was difficult to find the reticle on bright days if I wasn't in the shade
2 to high to get a cheak weld eaven with a low profile AK mount I had to make do witha chin weld when using it, good hight when mounted on my AR though
3 Batteries are somwhat dificult to find and you generaly have to remove the optic to change them unless you mount it all the way to the back to the point where the battery compartment is hanging off the back of the rail
